Did you hear? Restore Ease Dietetics is now accepting clients from Minnesota! Why Minnesota? It may surprise you but my Minnesota roots run deep!
I spent lots of time in Minnesota growing up as my mom grew up in Wayzata. We traveled there frequently to visit family and friends. I spent a week every summer with my grandparents who lived in Plymouth and later moved to Rogers. We attended Twins games, the Minnesota State Fair and I was even at the Mall of America on the day it opened (August 11, 1992)! I had heart surgery at the Children’s hospital in Saint Paul and at some point, Minnesota felt like a second home. So much in fact that I decided that was where I was going to attend college. The University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities was the only applied I applied to and luckily I was accepted.
I lived in Minneapolis and later moved to Saint Paul during the four years that I attended college. The Twin Cities marathon was the first marathon that I ever ran and continues to be the marathon that I have ran the most often. I will never tire of running those final miles on Summit Avenue and seeing the capitol in the distance as you start the last decent of the course. My grandparents met me at the finish line that first year and for every year after until they died. We always celebrated my marathon finish with a burger, fries and shakes from Annie's Parlour in Dinkytown.
Grandma’s marathon which runs from Two Harbors to Canal Park in Duluth was the location of the second marathon I completed and comes in as the second most often marathon that I have ran. Two of my three sisters live around the Duluth area so it feels like it checks two boxes when I can run a marathon & visit family in the same weekend!
I will never tire of running along Lake Superior which spans the distance between the two places that I’ve called home, Michigan and Minnesota.
As a virtual nutrition private practice, I have the ability to work with clients in different states. Certain states, like Minnesota, require licensure which assures Minnesotans that they are receiving nutrition advice from educated professionals like myself.
Do you live in Minnesota? Do you know of anyone who could use nutrition-related support for their mental health concern, eating disorder or sports nutrition?
